Portugal Researchers' AI Platform Boosts Global Microscopy

Researchers from Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência (IGC) in Portugal and Åbo Akademi University in Finland, together with the AI4Life consortium, launched DL4MicEverywhere. This open-source AI platform democratizes advanced microscopy image analysis, enabling researchers to use deep learning models without extensive computational skills.

DL4MicEverywhere’s intuitive interface allows scientists to perform complex image analyses on diverse devices, from simple laptops to high-performance clusters.

Building on ZeroCostDL4Mic, the new platform offers more methodologies and an enhanced user interface.

Led by Ricardo Henriques of IGC and Guillaume Jacquemet of Åbo Akademi University, this initiative aims to make AI technologies more accessible and reusable worldwide.
